Follow "The Harvey Way"

Prado View Highlanders are Learning to Follow "The Harvey Way" at School
At Prado View, we are teaching our students expected behaviors for all areas on campus. Our Highlanders are learning to: Be Responsible, Be Respectful, Be Safe, and Be Kind!At Prado View, we are teaching our young Highlanders specific, expected behaviors for different areas around campus.  You can access our full matrix for our expectations on the "Parents" page of this website.  Each area of campus is highlighted with a notation on how students should behave, what voice level they should use in that area, and how the behavior looks within each category of: Be Responsible, Be Respectful, Be Safe, and Be Kind.

Students participated in lessons for each area the first week of school, and these will be revisited weekly throughout the school year.  They also received an ID with a barcode on it that they should wear at all times while on campus.  Students may choose a lanyard, bracelet, or have it in a pocket.  Staff uses this ID to scan their badge when giving points to students.  It is also important that students have this ID when purchasing items or registering for an event.

You will often hear staff thanking students for following the "Harvey Way," since Harvey is our Highlander Bear mascot's name.  We reward students who are following correct expectations with "Harvey Points" that can be redeemed for items in classroom stores, the school store, and for fun events throughout the course of the year.

Parents and Students may download the PBIS Rewards applications on smart phones to check the amount of points a student has, any purchases that have been made, check on upcoming events, and see if the student has had any major referrals for the trimester.  We continue to seek ways to help students learn appropriate behaviors that will help them not only at school, but in life.
